42589, Hest Bank, 26 August 1953 2. A closer look at the down side. The trailing crossover runs between the up main and the Bare Lane line; its diamond crossing means there is no connection with the down main. There are two sets of points on the Bare Lane line, leading into the goods yard (nearer) and platform bay before it joins the down main. Egress from the goods yard is controlled by a bracket signal. There is also a signal at the southern end of the platform for trains leaving the bay. Photo by Ian Pearsall, CRA ref PEB736.
