North Eastern Rly 0-6-0 No 1275 1. NER green. Worked the Durham coke trains destined for Furness and West Cumbria over Stainmore to Tebay and Cockermouth respectively. William Bouch 'long boiler' design for the Stockton & Darlington Rly, where they entered service in 1852. Construction continued until 1875, after the S & D had become part of the North Eastern Rly. In all, 192 locos were built; all except 1275 were withdrawn in NER days. No 1275 was built by Dubs in 1874, and is preserved in the National Rly Museum, York.
