Photos taken by or from the collection of Robert J Powell. Mr Powell was Chief Controller in Carlisle up to about 1948 when he moved to Barrow as District Goods & Passenger Manager. He had commenced his career with the Glasgow & South Western Railway in Glasgow about 1920 and retired in the early 1960s as Divisional Manager Nottingham.
Not all are totally mystery pics but all have queries about them as detailed on the text file also attached. Quality not always very brilliant but all interesting.
